1. Fruits and Veggies

First up, we got fresh fruits and veggies! They’re packed with good stuff and have low salt, so they’re perfect for salads and sides.

2. No Salt Seasoning

Next, we got this magical seasoning called Kirkland Signature Organic No-Salt Seasoning. It makes food taste awesome without adding salt. I use this in so many of my recipes it is great for grilling, marinades and even seafood.

3. Tomatoes

Now, let’s talk about canned tomatoes. You can get ones with low salt or no salt. They’re great for soups and sauces without pushing up the sodium. My favorite brand is Pomi. Most, if not all, of their products have
Zero Sodium. Recipe: Tomato Basil Soup.

4. Eggs

Egg fans, listen up! Kirkland Signature Organic Eggs are a great deal you can get 2 dozen for less than a dozen at the regular grocery. They make a great snack or can be added to your favorite recipe with only 70 mg of sodium. If you mix egg whites and whole eggs together it is even less.

5. Peanut Butter

Want a creamy treat that’s good for your heart? Costco’s Organic Peanut Butter is the answer! It’s full of protein without extra salt or sugar.

I use this Peanut Butter for everything from breakfast to dessert. It is great in granola, sandwiches, and my favorite is “snickers” dessert. I take a banana cut it into 2″ lengths, drissel with softened peanut butter and melted chocolate (I just melt Kirkland Chocolate Chips), then sprinkle with chopped no salt peanuts. Place them on a parchment lined cookie sheet and pop in the freezer to harden. I keep them in an airtight container in the freezer.

6. Fish and Seafood

Fish and seafood are a win for your heart. Costco’s got a freezer full of them, and they’re quick to cook up! Recipe: They also have a great selection of fresh fish and seafood. My favorite is the Salmon. I like to get one of the large fillets and use them for prep cooking. Recently, I made this great Salmon en Papillote.

7. Fresh Chicken Breasts and Thighs

Instead of frozen Chicken Breasts and Thighs, try Kirkland Signature fresh chicken. It’s often lower in sodium since many companies add saline prior to freezing. I use these for everything from soups, stir-frys, and casseroles to grilling. It makes prep cooking a breeze. As the weather starts to cool off I love making this Pot Pie recipe.

8. Snacks

Feeling snacky? Grab some unsalted nuts and seeds from Costco. They’re a heart-healthy treat and add a nice crunch to your dishes. The Almonds and Walnuts are my go to’s each week.

9. Olive Oil

Olive oil is a superstar in the kitchen, especially the extra virgin kind. It’s heart-healthy and adds a special touch to your cooking. This is my go to staple in my pantry.

10. Berries

Don’t forget about frozen mixed berries! They’re perfect for smoothies or a sweet dessert without added sugar. It is a great way to have fresh fruit all year long.
